Buster: Although breast cancer is less common in African Americans, it is actually leading cause of death among African-American women, according to African American Breast Cancer Alliance, Inc. In fact, evidence suggests that African-American women under the age of 40 develop more aggressive and deadly tumors than Caucasian women. African-American women are also less likely to be regularly screened for breast cancer.
