Cause: Also known as atopic dermatitis, this rash is most common in people with allergies and is a hypersensitivity reaction leading to long-term skin irritation.
Where: The most common location of these rashes vary with age. In children younger than 2, skin irritation usually begins on the hands, feet, scalp and face. Older children and adults often have this rash near the inside of their knees and elbows as well as in the feet, hands and neck area.
