A whole-grain wrap or tortilla filled with cheese and chicken makes a tasty lunch quesadilla. Wraps are also a smart sandwich alternative to bread. “Swap out the white sandwich roll for a six-inch corn tortilla,” suggests Nancy Bennett, MS, RDN, CDE. “On average, you’ll save almost 200 calories, about 35 grams of carbohydrates, and a significant amount of sodium — all nutritional pluses for people with diabetes.”
