Fluid in lungs - for my friend

My very good friend is on her way to the hospital right now to get fluid removed from her lungs.  Is this a normal thing?  I believe she just found out she is stage 5.  Treatments have not been working for her over the past 4 years.  Can anyone give me some advice on what this all means?

thank you

Go up a little bit on this page; click on "search site" and type in "ascites" and when it takes you to the definition scroll down to the "ovarian cancer" entries.
Read them all and you will get an idea of what is going on and what some options might be.
I hope you find what you are lookiing for; if not, it is a starting point.
Good luck and Peace be with you and your friend.   dian
