anyone have night sweats and itchy skin with a fibroid or ovarian mass?

i have an 11x8 cm mass -- either a fibroid or ovarian mass.

my gynecologist is treating it rather ho-hum -- "Whatever it is, it has to come out."

i'm concerned because i've been having night sweats and overly itchy legs for a few months and i don't see that listed as a typical symptom with either fibroids or ovarian masses.

anyone have something similar?

and any advice about the recovery time on the laparascopy surgery would be appreciated!

Thanks for all the feedback ladies. Reading everyone's stories makes it a lot easier to comprehend!
I assume my CA-125 test was fine because it's over a week and the office staff said that it takes a week or they call sooner if there's a problem with the results. I'll be talking to my doc tomorrow, Monday. Surgery is a week from Wednesday -- it's funny, I just got a call from my student's mom -- my student just had emergency laparotomy to take out her appendix. And the dear girl was worried about getting Monday's homework in to me on time before I take off for my surgery!

Hi, I'm sorry you have to go through this.  Drs can be kinda blunt sometimes.  You mentioned in another post that you were having a CA125?  Did you get the result of that?  It's strongly recommended that if there is any concern that it is cancer that you have a gyn-onc do the surgery.  You should get an appointment with one so they can have a look at all your US and test results and give you their opinion.
When I had my surgeries (2) full surgeries not just a scope I was off work for 6 weeks for both.  I was in hospital for 5 days after surgery on the first one and 4 days the second time (although it's different everywhere).  The first week home I was napping all the time - you really get played out - even if you're doing nothing!  One thing is don't overdo it even if the stitches outside are healing well there are stitches inside healing and you need to give them time to heal too!

Take care and let us know how you make out.

The night sweats may be due to the ovarian cyst.  You have to remember that if it is an ovarian cyst that it could be interfering with your hormones.  I also had night sweats with my 9cm dermoid cyst.  Please keep us posted.  Kasie

Yep, those ovarian cysts can do a number on your hormones!  Also, so can anxiety.  Why don't you seek a 2nd opinion from a gyn/onc.  They are specialists and have seen it all.  Also, I don't think that a gyn/onc would be so cavalier about your medical questions.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Probably your sweats and itchy legs are nothing more than dry skin and -- perhaps -- anxiety. However, it can't hurt to ask for a liver test, just to make sure everything's good. Let us know how things go.
