abnormal ovarian cyst

im wondering if anyone else has a situation similar to mine that may be able to offer advise, i had a u.s in 03' and it was noted i had a cyst on my rht ov, that was presumed to be normala & i never gave it another thought till recently during my pregnancy (23wks) it was noted that i had a lge cyst 6cm on my rht ovary that should not be there & that it contained some septa.it was also noted that a normal/functional cyst would have resolved itself by that time during my preg.i again did not give this another thought until now my period has stopped! my dr is concerned now that this is not a normal cyst.  i have a 3wk wait before i can get in for another u.s, i had blood test today and will get those results in 5 days.  is it more likely then not that i will lose my rht ovary? (im 24 and currrntly ttc) is it also likely that this is cancerous?? any help of stories similar would be greatly appreciated as my head is starting to mess with me now and i need rational thoughts....thanks in advance for any replies

Welcome to the site!  While 99% of ovarian cysts are benign, you are wise to get medical attention.  Ovarian cysts can cause hormonal imbalances and thus cause your period to stop.  Try to get a 2nd opinion with a gyn/onc as they are specialists in the female reproductive area.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Well I don't know too much about ovarian cysts but I started getting pain on my left side and at first they doctors all believed that it was just a cyst turns out it was a tumor and they removed it but they told me that I can have plenty of children with just one, and I have even talked to women who only had one ovary who have 2 and 3 kids, so my prayers are with you and even if one ovary has to go it doesn't a death sentence to child bearing. My thoughts are with you.
