ATTENTION fellow ADHD'ers....

I am currently having a lot of trouble keeping my focus in my studies and completing my assignments on time :\

I take between 30-50mg of dexamphetamine (not usually 50mg these days). I have written down a list of all assignments and their due dates on my whiteboard so i can physically SEE what i have to do and so there is some kind of order to what i am doing.

I am nearing the end of the course, with placement starting in mid October :S ....ALL assignments MUST be in before commencing placement. I am quite behind and feel overwhelmed. I want to get them done this year (rather than coming back next year)....I can not deal with the feeling of another failure. I know I'm still adapting to the diagnosis and medication....sometimes i feel empowered and confident that i will get things done, yet other times I feel as though I'm too far behind and too far gone....

Does anyone have any strategies that you have found to be effective in keeping focused and motivated?

Please help this girl with a mega mumbled mind.... :\

You sound like me during finals!

I'd break things down into "chunks" you think you could handle.  Set deadlines for these chunks of work to be completed.  Then give yourself a amount of time to combine (or do your final studying) all the chunks of work together.

Here's a sample of unmedicated me (yes, I was stubborn) doing a report.
- write down when report is due:  How long do I have?
- write down what I think I need to do and how long I think it would take:  I need deadlines for everything or I loose direction
- categorize all the things that need to be done 1-?
- Put up several check list in prominent places (I'll probably forgett to look at one - my places were the fridge, the back of the door out of the appartment, my bathroom mirror)
- Start tasks in order - check off tasks once completed on check lists
- Oh and put my date for the report to be due in my computer, calendars (yes, I keep 2) and anywhere else I could find

Does that help any?  You can bounce ideas off me anytime.  Somehow I got a BA in English and one in Communications with this crazy strategy.
