Adderall 20 mg extended release

Adderall 20 mg extended release

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and have just started to seek help for it. I am 24 yeas old a little over weight and have always had a very high tolerance to all medications I've ever taken. My doc perscribed me adderall (adderrall) xr 20mg I've been taking it two days and have noticed nothing. I can't even tell I have taken anything. I know it's not something that has to build up in your system to start working so my question is would I be ok to take two of the pills tomorrow? I do plan to call my doc and get his permission first of course but i was just wondering if anyone else takes a dose similar and if so how do you take them two in the morning or one in the morning one in the afternoon? Also did you start off on a lower dose first then work your way up or how did you start off? Thanks for any advice or help in advance.

Whoaaaaa, your doctor should have covered all of this before you took your first pill :(
First, even with a high tolerance to meds, I think that if you did not have ADHD you would have noticed the adderall (adderrall).  It is speed to the normal population and you would expect some kind of a reaction along that avenue.
Second, yes, 20mgs is a very small dose.  Doctors always start out with the smallest dose, wait for the patient's experience and based on that work up a step at a time.  Its the safest way to go.   The doc is expecting your call - make him earn his salary!   And no, don't take two pills without his permission, it could screw up whatever system he is using.
Finally, as I said all of this is pretty standard stuff.     Two sites aimed at the adult ADD sufferer that you might want to check out are totallyadd.com and http://jeffsaddmind.com/for-first-time-visitors.
Both sites are done by people with ADD.  totallyadd was actually a PBS special and consequently is a series of short videos.  Quite entertaining and useful.   Jeffs add mind really reflects him.  Has much more adult interaction.  Both are worth checking out.
   Hope this helps.  Best wishes!!
