I have ADHD as well, and I'm not one for taking medicine at all, however, to all of you who say stimulants are "horrible" for you, you obviously do not have true ADHD, and if you do, it's extremely mild. If you truly have ADHD, the likelihood of addiction decreases dramatically, and once you find the right one for you, side effects should be few (headaches, some weight loss, etc).

To answer your question, I take Vyvanse. It's new and very close to adderall; it's just wrapped differently. The main difference is that it's absorbed into your intestines, so you do not get a "jolt" from immediate release of the medication, and the probably of addiction is very, very low. On an empty stomach, it takes about a half hour to kick in and always lasts (for me) about 12 hours. You only need to take one. Vyvanse has seriously changed my entire life. I am a much happier, less stressed, productive person. I have virtually no side effects except for a small decrease in appetite and mild to moderate when it wears off. I sleep like a baby, even though a side effect is insomnia. I'm so much more calm, neat, organized, motivated, punctual, and non-fidgety. I would recommend this medication to anyone who has a true ADHD diagnosis

Try coffee. That is an old-fashioned upper.
