I am so concerned about the diagnosis of ALS.
Began with right hand atrophy and weakness.  MRI results of cervical spine indicate severe disc degenerative changes at C6-C7 and C7-T1 levels.  Bilateral foraminal narrowing at C6 -7 and right foraminal narrowing at C7-T1
Mild to moderate disc degeneration at C5-6 with narrowing of left neural foramen.Reversal of normal cervical lordosis.   No disc herniation.

EMG results were abnormal.  In short, much reduced recruitment and severe continuos denervatifon.  Impression: evidence of severe right C8 radiculopathy with active and chronic features.   EMG doctors comment was "it's complicated"

Neuro referring me to neurosurgeon to determine if MRI results could be causing these symptoms.  In the meantime,I cannot eat, sleep or stop searching the internet for answers.  Mom of 2, 49 years old. Could it be ALS???  Please help,
Thanks

My wife who is 32 has been having a tough time this past year with symptoms which appear to be MS symptoms.  We are seeing a  very well know Neurologists...we have had CT Scans, MRI's of the Brain, lower spine, middle spine, and upper with an without contrast.  Recently we have had a VEP Test...all tests have been normal...not one lesion...We have had an EMG test - normal, main artery test - normal, blood tests normal.  Her sensations of numbness and tingling started on her right side - from the head, tongue, right arm, trunk, and legs about a year ago...That is when we started all the tests...even a spinal tap which was also negative...That was last March/April.  After the negative spinal - our neuro said that it was maybe a viral infection...and to come back in 6 months.  The symptoms went away - until January of this year...same symptoms again...right side numbness, tingling, etc. only on the right side...slight tremor in her right hand...all same as before.  Here we go again with the MRI testing...performed MRI's again - all normal.  Neuro prescribed 100 mg of nerotin a day in January...symptoms went away until 2 wks ago...My wife starting having the same symptoms again...right side numbness, tongue numbness, her right eye even seems heavy to her now...so 3 days ago we went to see our Neuro...he had us do a VEP test on the right eye...NORMAL.  Now he wants to do an MRI on the optic nerve and refer us to a neuro opthalmologist...we feel we are missing something here...again all tests, MRI's, and spinal tap show no evidence of MS...My wife is 32 - very healthy - works out 120 lbs...mother of two little girls 8 and 5.  I am looking for any answer I can find at this juncture.  I would so appreciate your help.  Thank you.  If there is anything you see in my story please comment.  Thank  you again.
Concerned Husband and Father.
