Cat's different bahavior

Cat's different bahavior

Our cat recently had dilated pupils (both eyes).  He seemed fine that morning, but by afternoon he was unsteady on his feet, his pupils were dilated, he seemed to stare off into space and was semi-rocked side to side while standing.  He would stand in one spot for a while and then move to another.  His stomach looked a little more swollen on one side.  His appetite never changed.  he goes outside for long periods of time so I'm not sure if he's had a bowel movement outside.  He hasn't inside.  the next day he seemed better.  his pupils were normal, but he still has little jerks when he walks or stops.

you did not mention the age, but it is not uncommon for animals to have strokes or TIA's.  we often don't see or diagnose them because symptoms can be very subtle - unlike humans.  recovery is usually several days to months and may not be complete - depending on the cats age.  A good neurological exam by a veterinarian or a veterinary neurologist could tell you much more.

epilepsy is also a consideration and you are seeing small seizures and the various phases of a seizure.  Time to see the doc.
