Hiccups

My 2 yr old beagle sometimes hiccups between breaths. I read where I can give him gas-x or bean-o. How should i give the dosage? He's about 38-40 lbs.

It's normal for dogs to get hiccups. One of the causes may be the food you are giving him. Make sure you are using a high quality low grain food. You can give him meds, but if they don't bother him I see no real reason too... www.get-rid-of-hiccups.com/Dog-Hiccups-Puppy-Hiccups.html

Those are safe for him at 1/2 human adult dose.  Simethicone (the active ingredient in gas-x) also comes in a pediatric form.  If you get the pediatric form dose to effect.  Hiccups are due to spasms of the diaphragm, however and getting rid of gas may not be effective, but it is worth a try.
