Rump sore's

We found him when he was very young. He has never been to the vet and he has multiple black bulging sore's on his rump. I should add that he got out of his cage for a week. when he moves the sores move in and out. We think they look like hernia's. What's wrong and what can i do to fix it?

Thank you so much, but this information wasn't helpful because the day after i posted he died. We found him in his cage with worms(they were white maget looking worms) crolling out of his rump. So they were external parasites... now we have another question. I have 3 outside cats so if I barry my mouse any where near my house im afraid they might get the worms, if they smell a mouse and dig him up. I'm just worried they might get hurt too.
please tell me what i can do. Thanks again.

Jack,
This is when a picture or video clip would be so helpful.  It concerns me that you mention that you consider them to be sores.  If they are merely lumps, they could be fatty deposits or something more serious such as cancer.  It sounds as though this mouse needs to be seen by a veterinarian to give you a better answer.  Not all lumps are cancer.  And yes, even a mouse can go under anesthesia to have lumps removed.  If these are sores with an ulcerated surface, I get concerned that they could become infected.  With this being a field mouse, it is possible that it has external parasites that are causing an itchy skin and the mouse may have caused the lesion from scratching.  Again, I can't tell you exactly the cause of the lumps...hernias are possible, or they may be his testicles.  Please make an appointment to see a veterinarian.

Good luck...
