My cat is NOT acting like himself

I have a very hyper and talkative cat that loved to run and jump. But the last two day's he's been laying on the bed, barely getting up for just a couple pieces of food and a little water. He moves very slowly, and his eyes instead of being wide open and bright are squinty like he is sleepy. And his perr sounds off, and is making almost a weizing noise when he is breathing. I know something is wrong, he's just too out of the normal but the vets don't have anyone on call in my town tonight, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what might be wrong????? PLEASE HELP.

YUP, Like Dr. Vicksman says, he needs to be in a veterinary hospital.  If you cannot get him in this evening, then first thing in the morning.  Many possibilities here, but the signs are not good and he needs a diagnosis and immediate care!

MJSawyer,
Unfortunately it always happens that emergencies like this happen when no one is available.  In this case the clinical signs that you describe a very nonspecific.  Many life threatening things can cause what you are describing.  I don't know how far the next closest city is but I would recommend trying to find a 24 hour care facility as soon as possible.  It sounds like your kitty is very sick and needs immediate care.
Thanks,
Dr Vicksman
