need your suggestion

dear doctor aleda yesterday a case of calf having spinal injury due to accident now she is paralyzed. now our surgeon decided to do surgery to remove the injury.. i want to ask you that can we treat her without surgery????????????

Hoshu, as a vet I think you already know what to do.

You can try to relieve the swelling and inflammation in the spine with high doses of steroids, while giving the patient gastrointestinal protectants to avoid gastrointestinal damage from the steroids.  You can also perform electro-acupuncture and/or cold therapeutic laser therapy along with the steroids.

But non surgical treatment can only be done for a couple of days and if no response than surgery may be warranted for the best outcome.  Please let me know the outcome.
