for about the last 3 weeks my dog rudy has been limping and favoring his left back leg/paw???? I have looked several times there are no splinters, cuts, or bruises that I  can see.  it seems to be worse in the morninings or after long peroids of rest. he wont walk on that leg.. I aint got no money for a vet, I hate to see him hurting, i have had him 10 years, any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi,

Please see a veterinarian. Lameness is not usually something an owner can sort out alone. Injuries to soft tissues of the various joints are very common, especially in larger active dogs. Often they are a result of chronic degenerative changes, obesity or both.
Your dog is 10 and hasnt been seen in 4 years. He should be soon, as lameness means there is pain. Perhaps there is a low cost clinic or humane association hospital near San Antonio. Alternatively contact the Texas VMA and see if they can link you to someone who can help you at minimal cost. Contact TVMA at: ***@****

Good luck!

Sincerely,
