Hello.
I'm 18 and have had bulimerexia for 6 years. Some of the effects are, popped blood vessels, low calcium, low potassium, dehydration, possibility of vomiting blood(really bad, if it happens go to your Dr. asap) trouble concentraiting, headaches, nausea, heartburn, tooth decay, chipmunk cheeks, swollen glands in your throat, swollen joints, buring a hole in your esopogus, kidney problems. The list is quiet long.
Hope this helped
Dear LB6,
In addition to the 3 years of anorexia, the following are a few of the possible complications from purging: dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, damaging of the voice, teeth erosion and cavities, salivary glands swelling “chipmunk cheeks”, multitude of problems with the esophagus, water retention, constipation, gastrointestinal problems, heart failure and internal bleeding. Visit the bella vita website for a more extensive list.
Best,

Well I am much older (45) and have delt with this since I was 15 . I will tell you some of the things you can expect to happen if you continue in an eating disorder. Over the long haul your hair falls out, you have chronic pain from arthritis,bowel/stomach problems constantly, your skin ages at a much faster rate, you can also grow eccesive hair every where else like a male from the hormones getting screwed up. Also you will get cellulite much easier because your body is so toxic from the abuse it receives. All the things you have been trying to accomplish by having an eating disorder actually does the opposite and makes you look terrible as you continue this behavior. It also ruins your relationships and can keep you from having children. I also seem to have no memory of my younger years when I was binging/purging/starving so bad. Believe me, you want to get help NOW for this while you are still young and can start to heal. May God bless you with healing for your mind and body and a long good life!
