Egg Allergy?

Egg Allergy?

For the past 8-9 years I've had trouble with stomach pains and gas (a lot of belching) for about 3hrs after eating eggs.  Not eggs in a recipe or anything, like eggs for breakfast - scrambled, over-easy, omelette, etc...  I really love eggs and I realize that not eating them is an obvious answer, but I was wondering if there's anyway to eat them but avoid the after effects.  I've tried organic eggs, egg-whites, egg-beaters and tried taking TUMS, but nothing really help with the symptoms.  Any suggestions or am I just out of luck?

Thanks in advance :)

You might want to try following the eggs with a liquid antacid preparation such as Maalox Maximum Strength Anti-Gas.  However it is likely that you do have a food allergy to egg and, if so, you probably are out of luck.

I have had the same issues. My docs chalked it up to an allergy once I started having issues with flu shots as well. Pepcid AC tabs work really well for me, either before or during the meal (before it gets to the uncomfortable point)...also, what kind of organic eggs did you try? I get the hormone-free, free-range organic brown ones (most groceries have them now, but they're a tad more expensive) and have minimal problems with those.
