Some concerns

Hi I am a first time overly anxious Mommy. I have a 29 month old who does some things that concern me and just wondering if I should seek out further testing.

My son is 29 months old and for the most part speaks very well in that he uses two-three word sentences and appropiately. Although he does repeat stuff back time to time.  He has good eye contact from what I can tell, responds to his name always, has great joint attention and seem to be somewhat social (he enjoys playing chase with kids and "cars;) and he is always asking me to play cars with him.  Everyone is impressed with his imagination (he created his own car wash after we watched a car wash one day, but he's keeps asking to go back to car wash).
He knows all colors, and can count to 12 and seems to understand concepts of numbers.  He knows the words to twinkle twinkle and will sing along and has caught on to other songs as well.  He' really easy to teach anything. In less than 10 minutes I was able to teach him his full name. For the most part he can answer questions and can communicate his needs/wants.
He does not seem to throw major tantrums or fits, he's really an easy child. He does not seem to have sensory issues in regard to loud noises.
My concerns: he will hand flapp once in awhile, once a day maybe if that and for no apparent reason. He does clapp alot though and "sing" when doing ( he does this once a day maybe and some days he does not do it at all). Once in awhile he will run in circles, but not a daily thing! He loves to jump too, always asking to jump on the bed! He's kind of quirky! But people tell me I am too.

Just a side note I was diganosed with OCD and from the time my child was eight days old I have been somewhat obessed with the spectrum and  fearful of it.

It sounds like your son is both typically developing and rather charming! I don't see anything to worry about there. The things to look out for are delays in communication and/or socialization and repetitive patterns of behavior. It doesn't sound like the occasional hand flapping or interest in cars is a problem and there's no reason to believe it signifies anything to be concerned about. If those things become problematic, consider seeking a diagnosis or specific intervention for them but otherwise I don't see a reason for concern.

F/U I forgot to add that my son prefers to play with cars, its his primary interests He does push them around but I think its to watch the wheels. He pushes them and then say he "parks them".  In fact, he loves anything with wheels, I noticed he will watch them on my car as I pull away.  As noted above he does not seem to have any language speech delay and with the exception of his hand clapping thing which he does not do every day and his love for cars and wheels, he seems pretty normal. Maybe I jst have a typical boy, who know! Any input would be helpful..thanks
