link between autisim and vaccinations

I am still on the fence about this issue, but I know many people who firmly believe that autisim and many other serious health problems are caused by complications from vaccinations.  They use the argument that groups of people who do not vaccinate (amish, etc.) do not have autisim.  I find it heartbreaking that when you read personal accounts of when a parent first noticed signs of autism in their child, it was often following several vacc. given at once.  I have read literally hundreds of them that talk about the exact same symptoms (arms flailing, poor eye contact, child seeming to be disconnected or far away, etc.) within the exact same time frame after vaccination.  Hundreds of parents claiming that their child was completely normal in every way, meeting all of the normal landmarks, until the vaccinations.  It seems to  be that the onset of this disorder varies, but correlates to bundled vaccinations.  My own daughter experienced an immune "freakout" after the mmr vaccine in 1991.  Her toes swelled up like balloons and her stool was a strange yellowish color that I had never seen before.  We took her to 10 different doctors who told us 10 different things such as  her shoes were too small, I must have put powder on her feet, she walked in grass that had weed killer on it, she was in a pool with chemicals, etc.  None of these were true.  Only SOME of her toes were swelled, so this made no sense.  We then went to Boston Childrens Hosp., one of the best in the world, and within 10 min. the rheumatologist diagnosed her with Juvinile Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Later, after exhaustive research, I found out that this is a common response to the mmr vaccine.  The waiting room at BCH was chock full of children who had received their 15 mo. mmr vaccine and shortly after had one or more of their joint swell and were diagnosed with JRA.  I spoke to several of the Mothers in the waiting room who all confirmed that the symptoms showed within a couple weeks of the vacc.  Back in 1991 I didn't have a computer, so the info I got was sparse.  As far as the retraction of the original finding that vacc. is related to autism, I feel it is a strong arm tactic by  big pharma.  Does anybody understand the trillions of dollars these companies stand to lose if people decide to cut back or eliminate vaccinations for their children?  These companies are among the richest and most powerful in the world.  There is much evidence of doctors and researchers being paid off to say things are safe when later (after they have already made billions) the product is found to be extremely dangerous.  I would like to hear feedback from other parents about this issue.  I would urge all parents to do extensive research about vaccines and their safety.  I absolutely do not trust vaccines, and for my second child I waited until she was much older to give only some of them.  I most vehemently declined the vacc. they now give babies at one day old???  In the hospital?  They were just born!!!  OMG why would you introduce such a thing into a newborn baby?  My older daughter born in 1990 was not asked to have this-why would all children suddenly need to have this? (think of the billions in revenue for the pharm. company)  I could go on for hours, but I won't.  Just wanted to have feedback and see if other people have had similar experiences.  God bless all children.

my feelings are   it  could be anything-    look  at  what  we  eat  even- there is so much  
stuff in foods-    we  were  not  made  to  digest  or  even  process in us.

My daughter has Aspergers. Her Dr. first realized she was delayed at 3. She was diagnosed with AS at 5. I, being a first time mom, didn't realize she had any problems. I just thought she was a cranky child who needed a strict routine and lots of warning before any kind of change. She didn't have any reaction to any of the vaccines and when I look back and compare her to my other children, I realize that she was different from day 1. I guess everyones experience is different, but I don't believe the vaccines had any effect on her and I've had my other children vaccinated without effect as well. I think sometimes people need someone or something to blame.
