Ok I will pick up a basal thermometer tonight. Thank you.
Your thyroid testing was likely TSH, T3 & T4, which are indicative of serum levels only.
However, what matters is cellular thyroid function, as thyroid hormone acts like the thermostat that turns on the heat inside the house.
So when your temperature is low (from doing this test) it indicates low thyroid function, REGARDLESS of serum levels!
There are other tests to also check this like Free T3, Free T4 and reverse T3, which are not standard tests and doctors for some reason (it is not within conventional protocol) do not order these.
In a low cellular thyroid state, your cells do not function properly, as their energy production is compromised, which means that any organ, any system, any body part can be affected, as energy is vital for ALL bodily functions.
Please do a search for this. You may be surprised to find out that prevalence of hypothyroid conditions (mainly untreated due to flawed testing) is reaching epidemic proportions.
What does the Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature Test for low thyroid function show? I got my thyroid checked during all of this and he said my levels were within range. I'm not sure if that's the same thing you would test with the Dr. Barnes?
Thanks for all of your input. This has been torture for the last moth. I fear that after I have been waiting 2 weeks for this appt with my rheumatologist that she won't be able to help me. Ugh.
Your RA report is negative while your ANACHOICE screen findings in the second report states clearly that the SS-B Sjogren's antibody at 2.2 is indicative of Sjogren's syndrome, an arthritic type of autoimmune condition which causes dryness of the mouth, eyes and other parts of the body as well as other symptoms.
However to get a firm diagnosis, it happens to be a rather difficult one to establish as the similarities to other conditions are many and the symptomology could be very extensive.
There was no mention of an ANA titre in your reports, but there's a likelihood that it was positive and higher than 1:160
While you are waiting for your appt with the rheumie, there are a couple things which may want to consider doing on your own:
1. You can try as gluten and dairy free diet as a test and if you experience improvement, this would be an indication of sensitivity.
These 2 are the top reactive substances and gluten has been associated with autoimmune diseases. Dairy also in about 50% of people who have issues with gluten in regards to autoimmune conditions due to cross-reactivity.
2. Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature Test for low thyroid function.
Just do a search and follow the simple instructions precisely .
The above two suggestions are usually left unexplored by conventional doctors, yet they come up frequently in such conditions as underlying co-factors.
Also many autoimmune conditions have been associated with pathogenic mycoplasma infections and if you want to know more about this you may search here in medhelp in this section under Dr. Garth Nicolson, the world's expert in this field and a regular medhelp contributor.
Please keep us posted and feel free to get in touch with me at any time.
Best wishes.

Hi Niko.
I'm not sure what numbers to look at but I uploaded the two reports that I got back from my test results, under my photos in my profile. Help?
ANA titres are the successive saline dilutions of the sample until no result is reproduced. They go like this: 1:40, 1:80, 1:160 etc.
Doctors up to 1:160 even if positive, do not consider them for diagnosis.
as greater numbers of healthy individuals may also test positive in the lower titres.
Please try not to rely on Labs too much, since they should be used only in conjunction with your medical history and clinical evaluation.
You could try to upload the report or just copy from it the numbers and symbols as shown.
Cheers.
Niko
I can upload a copy of the report under photos if you think you know how to read it.
Hello. I have my report with me but I don't know what a titre is? I'm not sure how to read this report.
Hi Sbra24 and welcome to the forum.
Do you know what your ANA titre was and any other details from your
Arthritis panel?
