Hi Seuntermeyer
A few things to look into:
1. Seronegative Arthritis
2. Low Thyroid function (primary- possible type 2 hypothyroidism)
or secondary to Low Adrenal function. This is outside the scope of conventional medical practitioners.
3. Underlying undiagnosed infectious condition.
4. Mineral/Vitamin deficiencies ( specially B12, D3, tissue Magnesium).
If any of these resonate with you and you need details, let me know.
Best wishes.
Niko
I have had my thyroid tested but it was about 3 years ago and it was fine. I do take magnesium because I found out several years ago that it really helps with the number of migraines I get and it helps me sleep. Underlying infectious condition? I don't know I have had so much blood work in the last 9 months I would of thought it would of shown if there was some infection hiding but maybe not I and I will mention this at my next doctors office. My doctor also wanted to test me for chonic Lymes but the tests are about $850 and without the help of insurance her and I have to choose which test to do wisely. I had actually never heard of Seronegative Arthritis but I have looked it up now that you mentioned it and one of the things that caught my eye is that Psoriatic Arthritis is in that group. Interesting. My doctor has really let me start leading which tests we do now. At first she made the suggestions but as time has gone along she gives me a couple of choices tells me to think about them and to let her know which way I want to go next. She said that people know their own bodies better and sometimes intuition needs to be listened to. Thank you for the information and this is something to discuss at my next doctors appointment.
From your comments, here are my observations + more suggestions.
1. Thyroid. New testing to consider. Serum testing is flawed, as it is not
indicative of thyroid function in the cells! Most conventional doctors order TSH,T3 and T4 at best. You need Free T3, FreeT4 and Reverse T3 to determine accurately your thyroid function.
You can do on your own Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature test, just follow the online instructions precisely.
2. Lymes, Mycoplasma and other co-infections are notoriously difficult to diagnose. You need probably an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)
and the best Lab to deal with is IGeneX Labs in Palo Alto, CA.
You may also want to check out Dr. Garth Nicolson, the top expert in
these types of Pathogenic Infectious diseases.
Unfortunately most infectious disease specialists are not necessarily your best choice.
If you need details, let me know.
3.Magnesium levels. You can do a (hair) tissue analysis to verify your
levels.
I use transdermal treatments with Magnesium Oil (50-50 Magnesium Chloride and water) for best absorption, possible.
Oral magnesium helps but it has a very low absorption rate, so most people are playing catch-up to increase their levels through oral delivery.
How about your other mineral and vitamin levels, like B -complex, B12, D3,
Vitamin K, Potassium, Zinc, calcium, phosphorus ?
4. You have a gem of a doctor! I simply love her approach.
5. Have you tried to eliminate dairy and gluten (or grains in general?) from your diet? You may have a sensitivity to either one of them or to both,
and it will be good to rule this out as well.
You may also look into Dr. Coca;s Pulse test to verify sensitivity to anything ingested within a week. Free download-public domain.
6. Psoriatic arthritis has a large inflammation component. Look into TNFa
(Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha) an inflammatory process linked to many serious conditions, not just Psoriatic Arthritis.
You can be tested for TNFa levels.
If positive, which I suspect you are, then there are a few simple things you can do to control TNFa, regardless of what exact medical label the diagnosis is given to you in the end.
So you may let me know, if you are interested, at any time.
I hope this helps, however, my suggestions and comments are not intended
as a substitute for medical advice.
Best wishes.
Niko
