What does my MRI mean???????

I received an MRI of my brain to look for MS.  The findings were..on the T2 and Flair images there are a few foci of increased signal intensity within the white matter bilaterally with the largest of these measuring 3mm in diameter and located in the left occipital lobe white matter. These foci are quite nonspecific. They can be seen in patients with small vessel disease, migraine headaches, prior shear injuries and gliosis. they are doubtful clinical significance to this observer.  I do not see the characteristic white matter findings of a demyelinating disease such as MS in this patient.

This patient has fairly extensive paranasal sinus disease as described above.  Minimal white matter changes probably consistent with gliosis or  prior migraine headaches/minimal small vessel disease.

I was in a car accident in October and noticed blurred vision and black spots in my eyes.  I was diagnosed with Raynauds and had one pos ANA test with titre of 1:80 and then a negative ANA.  I am being watched for Auto Immune Disease.  I am 40 years old.  I have much pain in my legs and weakness. I also have much memory issues.  I have a very hard time focusing and remembering things. The reason the doc sent me for the MRI was because my right eye blurrs and feels droopy like I can't open it.  I also had an issue one day when i was walking and I couldn't life my toe part of my feet.  They would drag.  My accident in october was that I was hit from behind and then forced into a car in front of me.  I was stopped and the truck hit me from behind doing 50 mph without stopping. Could this "gliosis" be from my accident?  I didn't have it on my MRI 4 years ago.  Can you tell me if the MRI is anything to worry about and should I see a specialist?

My doc didn't go over it with me.  I went and got a copy myself. That is where I got my info from.  My question is does anyone have any advice to whether I should be concerned and if I need to see a specialist.

So you had an MRI but your doctor did not go over the results with you?  Can you get a copy of this and take it to a Neurologist?  That's what I would do.  They will give you a copy of your MRI on a CD for free.  It's yours and they  have to give it to you.
