What are your daughter's symptoms ? And why did her physician order an ANA titer on her ?
Hi...a high ANA does not necessarily mean there is anything seriously wrong. However, it is a good thing to have it checked out in case there are any other factors that might be contributing to a high ANA. Many people have a high ANA and there is nothing wrong, or a normal ANA with an autoimmune disease.
I think your doctor is right in sending your daughter to an rhuematologist and you are lucky to have such an astute doctor. Many would simply discount it as "nothing."
If your daughter is having any symptoms that are bothering her, those should be mentioned to the rheumy.
Keep in mind that many autoimmune diseases are manageable and with proper treatment life can be wonderful and full.
Good luck to your daughter....let us know how she is doing.
