You asked about alcohol intake with regard to kelvinnkingmommy and I'm curious to know what role you believe that plays in an elevated ANA. I have a relative who drinks heavily, experiences the same symptoms as kelvin..., but after extensive tests and therapies has found no definitive answers yet and no treatment that provides relief. I have suggested that alcohol might play a part, but her liver studies are good. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated

You need to test Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3. Your original test implied an order of getting probably Free T4
tested if TSH levels are off, but get all 3 anyways, to really assess your thyroid function properly.

Now because of you high levels of inflammation, there's a good chance
your cortisol levels are low, after prolonged elevated levels due to chronic mental and biological stress.

Cortisol regulates the immune cells in our gut so when cortisol is depleted those cells become dysregulated, making us more susceptible to pathogens like bacteria, yeast, and parasites.

So if this is indeed the case, you need to look into "Adrenal Stress Profile" from BioHealth Labs (as a reference only) to assess your adrenal function  & if your cortisol levels come back low, I would also recommend you look into the "GI Pathogen Screen".
These tests are only available through health professionals.

Let me know if you need more details.
Please note that my suggestions are not intended as replacement for medical advice.
Best wishes,
Niko

I'm glad you are seeing and Endo. as I believe they are more thorough with examining hormones and you do have abnormal labs.  And I'm happy to hear that you are getting a 2nd opinion as well.  This is not in your head to have abnormal labs and feel lousy...something is wrong that has not been identified yet.  When this happens, it is often very frustrating for the person who feels lousy until a diagnosis is made, and treatment has started to work.  Any disease that works with your hormones can affect your mood.  Medications can also affect your moods as well.  If you feel suicidal in any way, please call your local suicide prevention hotline or go to this link for the national hotline number and link:  http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ .   Please keep me informed as to how your visit goes and hang in there.  You are not alone in having these feelings.

You titled your thread positive ANA.  Do you also have this too?  ANA indicates RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis).  Are you taking a Rheum. medication or something like Lipitor or Atorvastatin (for high cholesterol) or do you drink alcohol?  What medications do you take?

A TSH alone means nothing without testing Free T3 and Free T4.  What type of doctor ordered these tests?  What are they looking for?  Are you taking any thyroid medication?  If so, did you take the medication prior to having your blood drawn?

What medical problems do you have?  I need more information from you to assist you better.  Thank you.
