my pediatrician said those levels are insignificant. but they want to send him to a rhemotoigist first. do you think he should go to a hematologist instead?he seems fine right now. but his blood work is always abnormal

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Complement 4 or C-4 is a protein that moves freely in blood and helps in inflammation. Usually this test is done to monitor response to management of autoimmune disease. C4 and other complements are high in rheumatoid arthritis and certain cancers. Also, CH50 levels are high in certain serious infections, cancers and ulcerative colitis. It is important to consult a hematologist. Take care!
