Dealing w/ AIH and Cellcept and its effects of weight gain

Okay hears the deal I was put on prednison when I was 17yrs old along with imuran, now i know the effects of prednison obviouly, it being a steroid there usually are some weight gain and moon face etc as common side effects. Now I'm 19yrs old and they have me on cellcept. I have always been extremely active even to due to my fatigue but I cannot loose a pound, I will work out 24-7 and change my diets often to see if anything changes and...nothing. I haven't really been able to loose the weight from the prednison, and I will gain then maintain that weight then then gain a little more and maintain. I have been noticing not only from the last past year i have been having food sensitivities my face with blow up from eating things with hight salt content like cereal, ice cream, or even dressings on salads. So if anyone is having any of these similar problems and has some idea about how to handle it, that would be great. I just would love to be back to my regular weight and feel great.

I  just started Cellcept 500mg once daily 2 1/2 mo ago then moved to twice daily. I have put on 22 lbsw in that short time. BM's are almost non-existant. Had to drink gallon of go lightly laxative, recently to get things going. Has anyone else faced this problem wit Cellcept???

could it be just that your regular weight as a 19-year-old is not the same as it was as a 17-year old? Us women tend to change shape so to speak around that age, that's why all the top models are under 18 :)

are you off prednisone now? I'm on cellcept, and when I started I actually lost some 3kg but gained that back obviously with prednisone. Now I'm waiting to get off pred. and see what happens when I'm on cellcept alone. Had no problems losing weight after last time I got off pred, then I was using trexan as cytostat. Oh, and I have wegener's, not AIH.

don't know exactly what AIH is, but have been on CellCept for about 4 years.  just eat 6 small meals a day, exercise as regularly as you can, get as much rest as you need.  worrying about the weight will actually make it worse.  been fighting this battle almost 20 years myself.  when I cannot get out or walk, moving my extremities in a chair burns calories, etc.  something's better than nothing... keep up the good work.  when you eat small meals, you have a chance to burn up the calories before you eat the next meal.  was told that by my personal trainer years ago when i first started fighting my autoimmune diseases (i have more than one)...good luck to you.
