Oops, the Adrenal Stress Profile test is a saliva test, not a urine test!
My apologies.
You should ask for a TPO antibody test and TgAb , along with Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3. TSH is the least useful in assessing thyroid function
in general.
Do you have any of the classic symptoms common with hashi's?
Hi Niko, my cat was a Snowshoe Siamese mix.. :) This is the first time I've had anything like this..I will call Rheumy on Monday to go over tests..my Endo was like. oh BTW your ANA is borderline high, see your Rheumy..I've suspected for a long time Hashis but can't get dx..tsh tests will be low then go back normal..makes me crazy..thanks for the info..
Hi siam2009. Nice name. Your cat siamese?
You should look into genetic testing b'cause of family med. history.
MTHFR mutation?
Also unregulated hypothyroid, may predispose you to Lupus, once significant organ involvement takes place.
For monitoring thyroid function, perhaps, you should consider Dr. Barnes
Basal Temperature Test, done on a frequent basis.
Did you get any testing for hashi's?
You absolute Eosinophils at 0.17 is low enough to suspect high cortisol,
which should be investigated.
An adrenal stress profile Cortisol x 4, 2 averaged DHEA-S, urine test, from BioHealth labs (given as a reference only, not a recommendation)
might be helpful to rule this in or out.
Prolonged cortisol output is not a good thing!
Borderline high ANAs and other marginal high findings are not strong diagnostic criteria and lack specificity, only indicative of inflammation.
Polyarthropathy is to my opinion a generalization, because your doctor (Rheumie) could not specify what type of arthritis s/he suspects you might have.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes.
Niko
