My shins turned purple-ish almost over night.

Everything post-opt was going as planned and then I woke-up to having localized swelling (edema) in both shins.  It was like someone had tightly wrapped both my lower legs with tape from just below the knee, to just above the ankle.  It appeared almost cartoonish because it was so dramatic to only that specific area.  The following morning, I woke-up with the same area having changed color.  It was, and still is to some degree a purple-ish color, unlike anywhere else on my body.

Thus far I've seen an Internal Medicine doctor, Rheumatologist and Endocrinologist and not one of them has provided me with any type of valid explanation.  I'm going to see another Rheumatologist next week hoping they can shed some light on this.

It has also been recently determined that I my adrenal gland is no longer functioning properly.  So now I'm on a daily course of hydrocortisone to compensate for such.

Perhaps more importantly, shortly after the shin swelling/discoloration event I was also diagnosed with a Ischemic Colitis and Pseudomembranous Colitis wherein I was treated with two series of Prednisone starting with 80mg per day, weaning the dosage down over the following 6-weeks.  After the initial series of Prednisone my symptoms eventually returned wherein it became necessary to repeat the series again.  After that, my colitis symptoms appeared to have been resolved, however, I'm still experiencing the above-mentioned shin issues along with some severe joint inflammation.

Has anyone on this site had anything even remotely similar happen to them?  And if so, what was eventually diagnosed?

Thus far, Prednisone appears to be the only thing that seems to help, especially with the inflammation, etc.  As a matter of fact, while on Prednisone (after only a couple days) I'm able to walk/function relatively well.  Without it, I'm significantly incapacitated to the point where I require a cane (sometimes a walker) to even walk.

Whatever this is, it has destroyed just about every aspect of my life.  So, any suggestions would be very sincerely appreciated.  And thank you in advance for your consideration regarding this matter.
