RA the cause of Diastolic Heart failure

I currently have uncontrolled RA, I take Plaquenil 400mg but will be changing to new meds soon. I  have just been DX with Diastolic Heart failure.  I don't have High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea, or Coronary Artery Disease although I am 60lbs over weight.  Could the Diastolic Heart failure be connected to my RA?

Thanks for the info, hopefully me and the doc can find a medication to keep my RA under better control. After my hands and feet hutting very bad last night I woke up this morning with very small whelps or blisters on the tips of my fingers and toes. don't know what it is from, RA connected?

Yes. Many studies have linked heart failure to chemicals related to inflammation. Rheumatoid arthritis is a significant risk factor for heart failure. RA patients whose blood had the RF antibody had the highest heart failure risk. Compared with RA participants without RF, they were 2.6 times as likely to develop heart failure. RA patients without the antibody were 1.3 times as likely to develop heart failure.
