Suggetions please!!!

I recently was diagnosed with sero-negative RA, I have been seeing a rheumatologist for the past 6 months, a positive ANA-speckled pattern, negative RA factor many other blood test, I have mild anemia, vitamin D of 12.9. After several months of steroid injections, my doctor started me on Plaquinel. I started having random bruising. Could the brusing be from the meds? Or should I worry and call the doctor?

Plaquenil will also cause the anemia.  Does your Rheum. MD have you on some type of Folic Acid or Leucovorin, or instruct you to eat foods high in folic acid (usually leafy green foods)?

Go to the link Foggy2 gave you and read the chapter under :
" For Health Professionals."

You may have a more serious issue (or 2) though.

Your levels are alarmingly low!
Vitamin D3 levels must be 50-70 ng/ml for optimum function

There are numerous vitamin D receptors in every body part and system and
vitamin D signals over 3000 genes!!! Not a typo.

If you're levels are not increasing with supplementation towards "normal"
levels over time, you should consider to rule out vitamin D resistance.

Please let me know if you need more details on that.

Your health status will not improve easily, while vit. D deficient!

Is your mild anemia being addressed? Can you offer details?
Levels/tests, treatment, etc.

Do you know that anemia, even mild might be affecting your thyroid function?

Hope this helps and looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes.
Niko

Did the MD diagnosis you with a different type of arthritis (e.g. psoriasis)?  Yes, plaquenil can cause bleeding:  http://www.drugs.com/sfx/plaquenil-side-effects.html . You can inform the MD on your next visit, but I don't think you need to make a special call about it unless you start having nose bleeds or bleeding of your gums or vomiting blood.
