My POTS affects my breathing when I do anything that raises my heart rate. People think I have panic attacks, but it happens when my heart beats too fast that I can not caught my breathe. I get migraines a lot when I am tired, stress, not eating enough salt, not drinking enough water, or when my blood pressure is high. My POTS doctor said it is common with people that have a form of Dysautonomia. I have nerve damage from being a preemie. It stings and burns when people touch me on my shoulders, arms, feet, and neck. My legs and arms also go numb because I do not get enough blood flow throughout my body, my doctor said. They are a result of autonomic dysfunction.
Yes indeed both fibromyalgia and migraines are a part of dysautonomia. I have all of these as well. Because it is a dysfunction of the autonomic system(s) it can affect your pupils ability to contract in the light, and that's where I get my migraines. I look toward a light in passing, my pupils don't do their job, and I get that retinal burn/after image and it won't go away. Then I get more retinal burns in different areas of my vision and eventually can't see past them. Then, migraine and nausea.
I'm not sure how the fibromyalgia originates in dysautonomia but it is clearly stated as a part of it in my paperwork from my electrophysiologist.
I don't experience the neuropathy/tingling hands and feet but I have heard of it associated with dysautonomia on other chat forums, yes.
