I hate the BC pill!!!!!

I know im going to ramble on here, and sound like a crazy women but i have to get this out....

I seriously hate the BC pill!!!! ive only been on for just over one week and already things are happening that used to when i was on it before I started to TTC.
I thought my emotions were bad before with hormones, but the BC makes them even worse!!!!... and the worst one of all is I worry my husband might find something better than me. I hate this feeling and haven't felt this way since i was on BC a few years back. its horrible to feel this way, even though I know its all in my head and my stupid hormones... it doesn't help when im hating the way i look right now too. he is seriously always so loving and telling me how much he loves me THE WAY I AM... but when im having so many down days i start to freak out that he is going to get sick of me all together!

what the heck do I do!?!?!?!?!?! its either stay on the BC for three months and see if it will help with the pain and give my ovaries a break before I get back to TTC or stay on BC and see these horrible emotional feeling through.

does anyone else have this happen to them on BC?????

so I phoned the insurance person today and she is going to put a plan together to cover us until DH's 3 months is up and we get on his work plan.
she said none of the plans require a 12 month wait for pre-existing conditions so i am sooo happy about that.
i will be able to go to an OB/GYN but I'm not sure if they will cover a specialist until we are on the work plan. ill also be able to have my 6 month skin check for moles... which im due for now. I have two that are not looking so good and i had a mole removed 6 months ago that had abnormal cells... not good when my dad died of melanoma at around the age I am at now! in fact he died this month 24 years ago.

so hopefully by next week ill be visiting with a new OB/GYN, I already have a referral from a friend to one that is supposed to be really good! and hopefully ill get my referral to a RE started.

Yay.. things are looking up!!!!! now all I have to do is make it to next Tuesday when my step kids will be back at school and I can start working mornings. hopefully they have got my new computer set up for me at work so I can start getting my office organized! I hate not being organized!

I didn't think of the mini pill, im not sure if it will help with the reason they put me on the BC though, my AF cramps arent all that bad... my pain is constant.... but ill look into it for sure though! the other benefit of the BC is to stop the endometriosus from spreading again. the dr seems to think that the pain, even after the surgery, is because the endo was so bad and it will always be like this unless im on the pill or have a hysterectomy. stupid thing is the pain from the endo didn't get bad until after the MC! so if i didn't want to TTC it would be all good and i would probably deal with all this much better... but as you all know i do want to get pregnant. so stupid hormones and wanting to TTC and the BC seem to be an odd mix right...lol

here is what i found on taking BC to stop the endo and why the cycle worsens it... I know its a lot of info but its interesting and helps to understand a bit about this stupid disease!

"How endometriosis causes pain is the topic of much research. Because many women with endometriosis feel pain during or related to their periods, some researchers are focusing on the menstrual cycle in their search for answers about pain.

Normally, if a woman is not pregnant, her endometrial tissue builds up inside her uterus, breaks down into blood and tissue, and is shed as her menstrual flow or period. This cycle of growth and shedding happens every month or so.

The endometriosis areas growing outside the uterus also go through a similar cycle; they grow, break down into blood and tissue, and are shed once a month. But, because this tissue isn’t where it’s supposed to be, it can’t leave the body the way a woman’s period normally does. As part of this process, endometriosis areas make chemicals that may irritate the nearby tissue, as well as some other chemicals that are known to cause pain.

Over time, in the process of going through this monthly cycle, endometriosis areas can grow and become nodules or bumps on the surface of pelvic organs, or become cysts (fluid-filled sacs) in the ovaries. Sometimes the chemicals produced by the endometriosis can cause the organs in the pelvic area to scar, and even to scar together, so they appear as one large organ"

"What are the hormone treatments for endometriosis pain?

Because hormones cause endometriosis to go through a cycle similar to the menstrual cycle, hormones can also be effective in treating the symptoms of endometriosis. In fact, if a woman’s symptoms do not respond to hormone therapy, health care providers may go over their diagnosis of endometriosis again, to make sure she really has the condition.

Health care providers may suggest one of the following hormone treatments:
Oral contraceptives or birth control pills

Regulate the growth of the tissue that lines the uterus and often decrease the amount of menstrual flow. In general, the therapy contains two hormones, estrogen and progestin.

    * It often works as long as you take the pills. Once you stop the treatment, your ability to get pregnant returns, and your symptoms of endometriosis may also return. Many women continue the treatment indefinitely.
    * Some women take birth control pills continuously, without using the sugar pills that signal the body to go through menstruation. When birth control pills are taken in this way, the menstrual period may stop altogether, which can reduce pain or get rid of it entirely.
    * Some birth control pills contain only progestin, a progesterone-like hormone. Women who can’t take estrogen use these pills to reduce menstrual flow.
    * Some women may not have pain for several years after stopping treatment.
    * You may have some mild side effects from these hormones, such as weight gain, bleeding between periods, and bloating"

as for what i said about the vivid dreams.... and the one i had two nights ago... i didn't mean vivid as in seeing the acts of a murderer etc.. it was more vivid in that i remember in my dream trying to protect myself from someone like that... and i just happened to be at my old alimentary school back in New Zealand. I had weird dreams last night.... three of them in fact.. DH had to wake me up with one of them as i was crying and all over the place... apparently i head butted him as he was trying to calm me down... yea, the worried feelings im having about him are now in my dreams as well.  GREAT!!!!

anyways... i am going to have a GREAT day today!!!!!! I am going to control my worried feelings. after i vented about my problems yesterday I made myself be more positive and ended up having a much better day. when I got home form work it was really nice and like normal.... all fun and laughter. I felt much more confidant about his love for me.

DH gave me the number for the insurance broker that his work gave him. we don't get full insurance until he has been back at work for three months but apparently they offer a discount in the mean time.

oh the other thing I think the BC is doing.. holy bad constipation batman!!!!!  I have problems with this normally and take Metamucil... that's not even helping me right now!

Missing the three cycles may eliminate the period cramps etc.  From what I've heard about BC the only "benifit" to most people about having a period every 3 months is just so they don't need to have it.

When I went on BC for the first time that's exactly how I felt!  After 3 months/cycles it got MUCH better, but it took a full year before it "really" started to help with the issues I was having.  The second time around I went on a mini-pill because I was breastfeeding and refuse to use a condom, and I didn't notice anything with that one.  The mini-pill has only one of the two hormones, so I'm not sure if that would help you at all.

I'm sorry your dealing with moving such a far distance AND a new job on top of it all.

Hang in there, it will get better!

I dont have insurance right now because of the move to a new job. hopefully ill get it back soon, as soon as i do ill go to the dr about it.

the BC that im on is a very low dose. you take it for three months straight before taking the 7 days of the other color when you get AF.. so AF comes only every three months. I guess that's why the NP said three months... I really dont know her reasoning for sure though. maybe three months to help the endo settle... not that im even sure that's what is causing the pain since the surgery. im still feeling pain.

I made myself have a better day today. last night was way stressful with DH. I really upset him with my negativity and stressing out. I didn't tell him about my worries about him not wanting me anymore though. maybe its more than just the BC... we are still trying to get finances back on track after moving from one side of America to the other... and that is really stressing me out. but its really not healthy to be having these other feelings! its like I know its hormones that's making me feel this way but then the worry he will get sick of the "hormones" makes it worse!

jenny.... its funny you mention your dreams! Ive been having very vivid dreams. last night it was about a murder/child molester. sick ha!?!?!?!?!

anyways... ill give it until the first month is up and see how im feeling. Im going to make DH phone about the insurance tomorrow.

thank you all for your input on this.... i just had to tell someone about it.

Vanessa, i'm so sorry that your going through this. I remember going on the pill, I had so many reactions both physically and mentally, my Dr kept having me try something different but it seemed each one had a different effect. I would talk to your Dr. and see if you could be put on a lower dose or even  a different pill all together. Good luck sweetie and try to hang in there.

Vanessa when I first went on bc I had a lot of problems with one type.  I was constantly having dreams that all the people around me were dying.  It was very morbid and affecting my life.  My doctor changed me right away.  I would talk to your doctor asap.  This is not a normal reaction.

Like bam said why 3 months?  I'm not familiar with the "giving the ovaries a break", but is there any other alternative?

Good luck

I'm sorry Vanessa :(  I would definitely suggest that you talk to your dr about how they are making you feel.  There are tons of different kinds of BC out there, surely there is something else that won't make you feel so wacky.

Why is 3 months the magic number?  Why not just 2?

Although I dont remember these symptoms while being on BC I am sorry you are going through that!  I wish you didn't have to be on it...I would say maybe to take a break but use other forms of protection?  I don't know...I am sorry :(

The reason I stopped taking the Loesterin(sp?)24 was that it made me feel crazy. I thought I was going to knock somebody out if I didn't stop taking them. My friend had the same reaction, but kept taking them and it went away after a couple of months. I think that those pills are probably behind some serious crimes LOL. Have you told the dr? Maybe one with lower hormones would help?
