Question about pregnancy?

I've been getting very dizzy off an on. I was standing at work today and everything got kind of blurry and I got dizzy. I went to sit down with a client and it kept on even after I sat down. I have never had this happen before..now it's happened quite a few times in the past week. My dr. said to start eating 6 times a day, but I don't think it's my blood sugar?? They also want me to take my blood pressure, but I can't just run out to the pharmacy when this happens. I thought I was going to have to get DH to come pick me up today and bring me to the dr...there is no way I could have drove like that. I posted this on another forum too, but it's got me kind of worried..and I wonder if any of you have had this happen?

It may also be worth having your ears checked, you may have an inner ear infection.  I had labrynthitis, no pain and no indication that anything was wrong until I fell over from being so dizzy!

BP does drop in early pregnancy and like some of the other ladies I have this problem whether I'm pregnant or not.  I agree with the advice already given, drink plenty and exercise and stand up slowly. (( ))

it can be from sugar. I just had my dose of metoformin go up and it makes me dizzy like you described, they told me blood sugar changes were the issue.

I hope you feel better.

Thanks :D I have had low blood pressure and sugar problems in the past, but it wouldn't happen when I was just standing there talking to somebody. This seems to keep happening just while I'm standing still. I'm terrified it's going to happen while I'm driving. It's so strange...because it goes away just as quick as it starts.

I agree, I've had this happen in past pregnancies, more so than others as I feel this way when I'm not pregnant sometimes.  There are a few things I've learned that help with it.  The most important is to make sure your drinking enough watter, the more hydrated you are the less dizzy you'll feel.  The other is to try and keep in shape (well as much as you can while pregnant), walking every day helped a lot for me as well, but I didn't notice it right away, it was a week or two later I noticed it.  When you walk and excersize you can help improve your blood flow.  Most importantly, don't stand up or sit up too fast.

I hope you feel better soon!

In previous pregnancies, I would feel the same.  My doc said it has to do with the blood volume shifting as well.  More blood flow to the uterus, less to the head I guess.  But def. check with your doc to make sure something else isn't going on.  Maybe carry a little candy or something and use that when you have a spell to see if it helps.  Good Luck!

Dizzy spells have been linked to pregnancy.  I believe it is from the hormones rising very quickly in early pregnancy.  When i was prego, I got like that at least once a day!!  It could also be because of your blood pressure and the only way to know for sure is to test!!  I would POAS and just see what it says!  Good luck, and I hope the dizzyness is for a good reason ;0)!!

Sounds like i could be related to blood pressure....?  Have you looked in to getting a BP monitor?  They have ones that do electronic readings that are easy to use?  I am sorry you are feeling dizzy!  Have you ever had bp issues before?
