Back pain, I need suggestions of what it might be..

I have had back pains as long as I can remember, but I hurt my back at work one day about 5 years ago, mopping a cement floor... I had x-ray's done, and I was told it was scheurmans  disease... This is what I believed for a couple of years... Then I started researching, and realized my symptoms aren't the same.. I went to my doctor, he told me that they wrote in their file that they weren't sure what it was, so they gave their best guess... He said his best guess was disc degenerative disease... I am 23, and was 18 when the worst of it started... The pain I feel is, a burning pain in the middle of my spine, like in and around the bone... i also feel major muscle pain on either side of the spine in that are, my muscles feel kind of pinchy i guess... i also have pains along the whole bottom of my back.... then there is a spot at the top of my spine that gets a stabbing burning pain... like the pinchy pain but more severe.... it happens everyday... not constantly throughout the day... but once it comes, it normally stays for the rest of the day... since i got a memory foam mattress topper i do not wake up in pain anymore... I find it hard to stand in one spot for very long.. only minutes until i feel like i need to sit or walk... i get pain in my hips, and down the back of my legs, which i have been told is bursitis... more recently i have been getting pains in my right shoulder, it will get too soar to move my arm, and i cant lay on that side at night time... i get a lot of headaches as well.. all kinds of headaches, lots of migraines... i don't know if any of these things have to do with each other, but i figure your spine attaches to everything, they they likely do.. i am sure there are many more problems...
I bugged and bugged for an MRI, it took 8 months to get one... I had it done in December, and I still havent heard anything back... i feel like no one cares about my constant pain.. and they don't bother to try to figure it out, because they aren't the ones feeling the pain day in and day out :(

U r so welcome..I hope u r successful in getting a copy of the report.

U may want to look into meditation or yoga something to help calm the muscles...if theyr r too tight it can cause pain.....

Good luck

I have no idea... I just know I was put in the machine for them to do the scan, or whatever... They told me my problems are near the top of my back, and in the middle... But now that you asked that, it is possible they didn't do a scan of my entire back?? If they didn't, I know why I haven't heard anything back! Everytime I mention the MRI or my backpains all I get is, "You have been traumatized, and you are bipolar, so the pains that you are getting are your nerves attacking themselves because your brain is not happy" No matter how many times I am told this, it doesn't make me believe that my mental problems are causing this crippling pain in my back!
Thanks for your advice.. I will try to get a copy of my MRI report!

Hi and welcome to the back and neck suport forum.

Since u r in Canada, I do not know if u r able to ask for copies of ur MRI's and the reports?? If u can , call the location of the study and ask for the copies.

U may learn more from reading the report urself, or get a second opinion.

May I ask what area u had MRI'd
