Yes, it is true that nerves associated with C2/C3 innervate the surface of the ears and provide some innervation of soft tissue in the occipital area, however C2/C3 nerve impingement is by no means the only cause for occipital pain, and this forum is certainly no place for a medical diagnosis.

Yes I know that nobody can make a diagnosis in these forums, I already have one. I was looking for someone who has had this pain, or the surgery, to come forward and talk to me about their experience.
