Cervical Kyphosis - Back Pain

My problem is a little different and quiet complex. I have been having this problem ever since I was young. My spine has always been curved and has continued to become worse over the years. I have now become accustomed to chronic pain day in and day out. This is to the point where sitting in class is near impossible, standing and working is more of a burden and mental strain and even while sitting I am in continous pain. I know surgery is the only option. Yet, with no MRI and no medical insurance I am at cross roads. I really don't know what to do. I have applied for medical insurance and it is now in the underwritting process. I doubt I will be accepted because of the few recent trips I have taken to the doctor who has prescribed me hydrocodone, muscle relaxers and the like. Yet, none of these medications work! The muscle relaxers just makes me tired, hyrdocodone does nothing at all and now I don't know what to do! My questions here are: do I continue to suffer in pain and hope the medical insurance comes through so I can take full and proper procedures to get this taken care of the right way? Go to a pain management clinic and see what the least expensive route is to manage this horrible pain? Or an extreme route, and one that I have thought of, going straight to the ER where they do have to take me in as a patient and go from there?
