Headaches post cervical anterior fusion causes

I had debilitating LEFT sided headaches post 4 level cervical fusion. They were driving me insane! I had a bone scan with the radioactive dye. It showed that all the discs above and below were weakened and I have severe inflammation in my facet joints.
I was crying at the appointment with my pain management doctor and he has known me for over 10 years from another injury.
He has me on a cancellation list (since he is so busy) because he sees and knows how bad these headaches are. I am getting a facet injection to try and alleviate the swelling. We will see how long this lasts. If it only lasts a month, then he is going to use radio frequency to kill the nerve completely.
I tried posting this as an answer to someone with this problem, but I think the thread may have been closed, because there was nothing to clink on to add this answer.
Hope anyone that has had a cervical fusion reads this because it is VERY common for these headaches to occur after cervical fusions. Nobody tells you this. I have been suffering for way too long and have been on every pain medication and nerve med there is.
Never shut up when you are in pain. Be the "squeaky wheel", and insist that you get the testing done to find out what is keeping you from being as pain free as possible.
I even went on to other pain clinics to find the first available cancellation/appointment since they are all so busy.
