ITCHING!

Hello to everyone!
My question is pretty brief. Yesterday my M.D. prescribed me a medication called Nucynta for my back pain. Shortly after I took it I began itching. I read up about this med and itching can be one of the side effects. I just sent my husband to get me some benedryl - but I'm wondering if I should bother my doctor about this or?? Is it possible that this itching will only get worse? Honestly, I'm not looking forward to jumping from med to med - looking for something that I don't  have a reaction to ... oh well, if I must, I must. Thank you for taking the time to read this and respond. Take care!

Ive heard that itching can be an effect from narcotics. I've never experienced it myself but I know people who have. I would call the doctor and let him know
