Lower back pain

Hi :)
First time asking a question. I have had lower back pain and what appears to be nerve pain down my left leg for over a year now. I was in a car accident about 1 1/2 years ago.  I recently had a xray done which showed bilateral sacroiliitis. Then i had an MRI done which shows very mild spondylotic degenerative changes at l-5 to s-1 with no neuroforaminal or spinal cord stenosis noted. I thought it was strange that the sacroiliitis did not show on the mri? Well currently i have low back pain, both butt cheeks ache along with both thighs. I have sharp burning pains that start at my left buttock and shoot down the back of my leg into my foot with numbness and tingling. Also my left heel aches as if i was hit with something there. Any ideas of what is happening to me? I need this fixed, i hurt daily :(

Sacrolitis is general term for nflamation in the sacrum joint. Seen higher in the spine, it is called spondylosis.

Are you working up an old injury? If so I recommend that you not worry and simply wait until your doctor returns and can explain these findings, take a history, make and exam, and come up with a diagnosis.

No doctor in his right mind can make a diagnosis from films alone, but your symptoms are consistent with sciatica. Perhaps if you call your doctor's office and tell them you are in moderate pain, they will prescribe something that may help with the pain until you can be seen.

Best wishes

Mri also states:
Mild disc desiccation at l-5 to s-1. Also in same area tiny central focal disc protrusions containing annular fissure abuts the thecal sac.
Benign interosseous hemangiomas located at t-11, t-12, l-2 and l-4. I don't understand what or if these results explain the pain I'm experiencing. Any help would be appreciated seeing that i do not see my dr till next week
