MRI Findings

had an mri done findings were minor disc desicccation at L-5 and in lower thoracic spine. What does this mean?

Disc desiccation refers to the spinal disc that are between each vertebra. It just means that the disc at L-5 and in some of your lower thoracic levels have begun to dry out a little bit. This process for the most part is completely normal and effects most people as they age.

I don't know if you have back pain, if you had this MRI done, I imagine you do. If this is all the MRI showed, you're in pretty good shape. But you might to take this as sort of an early warning to spend some time in Physical Therapy or at the very least do some back exercises. Otherwise, over time this thing could get a lot worse.
