My MRI report of my Back

My MRI report says that " There is a posterior disc protrusion at C 5- 6 level, compressing the Thecal sac. & Posterior Bulgesare seen at C 3-4 and C 4-5 level , indenting the Thecal sac.& Bilateral Uncovertebral osteophytes are noted at C 5-6 level.
I would like to know about the status of this condition and some exercises that can be done for its treatment.

Disc protrusion at C 5- 6: A disc protrusion is a disc bulge/herniation in which the disc tissue is intact, and has not ruptured.

The thecal sac contains fluid to protect and feed the nerves and it encases the spinal cord. Compressing means pushing and making smaller. Indenting is pushing against.

A disc bulge means that the outer ring of the disc extends past the edges of the disc space; they are not as serious as herniations and in many cases cause no symptoms.

Bilateral Uncovertebral osteophytes: Small uncovertebral joints are located at the sides of each vertebral body, one on the right and one on the left, and help with flexion and
extension. Osteophytes are arthritis which is common and develops as we get older. Bilateral means both sides.

Not knowing your age or symptoms, the majority of this report appears to be age related.

I would advise you to see a Physical Therapist, who can further evaluate you and determine the best course of treatment.
