I have had the pectus excavatum my whole life (26yrs) never did a doctor say anything. After a recent CT they finally noticed and say it is severe. My haller index is 6.1 and my heart is displaced leftward. I do have many symptoms but am not concerned enough for surgery at this time. Only thing that I consider bothersome is my major neck and back pain. I have seen a physical theropist many times (at the time they had no idea of the cause, but now from my research its from the chest indintion?) I see its typical in people who have excavatum to have this pain, but how can it be treated? Will more physical therapy help? Or will I need to try medications?
