Post Surgical Bruising

I had a lumbar fusion with screws 1 yr ago. Recently I have experienced some pressure where the screws are and the other day my wife she said I was bruised in the same area as my pain. My question is, since I have not bumped into anything, is if the screws that are inside can cause bruising on the outside? If so does that mean the screws are loosening and I should get myself back to the surgeon

I agree with kalvin. I too just got done having fusion surgery with instrumentation on feb 22nd and I don't think its impossible to bruise from the inside out. Not sure tho, make an appt with the dr and get it checked out! Best of luck to ya:)

I had a lumbar fusion myself several years ago, and I haven't had any hardware problems except when its cold out. So I don't know about the screws loosening but if I was you I'd go see the surgeon and get it checked out. No sense in taking any chances.
