Sciatica Pain

I hve svere back pain on & off. It travels from my tigh hip joint to ankle. I m a thin man , often feel pain in my neck muscles as wenn now. After having gone under so many treatments its still un fruity. Pls suggest something if u can.

Have you seen a pain management dr? I go to one. He doesn't just give a med for pain. He does MRI's, injections into disc, etc. He searches to find what is causing the problem and goes from there as to the best things to do. I had an injury to my neck years ago, now it is my back and hips. They said when something throws off the alignment of the spine it affects other areas. He had me have an MRI, which did not show him anything related to the back and hip. So, since he knew there was something wrong, he injected dye into my discs and would ask me about my pain level. The most of my spine is affected. Once the dye was injected (used to make pressure so he would know where the pain was at) I went to the hospital for some type of x-ray (not the usual). Then, he set me up for disc injections. The first one didn't last long, but the second one has lasted really good. I'm about ready to go again now as it is wearing off.

Normally, when you call to make an appointment they want to know you have been thru all that treatment with no relief, because pain management is a last resort. I have to tell you the dye injection causing pressure can be painful, as it activates all the pain areas. I came out in a wheel chair because I couldn't walk (it is called a discogram), but it was well worth it, because then he knew exactly where to treat. Hope this helps you out. RJ
