Thigh Pain Front and Side

I have pain in the front and side of my left thigh, along with left hip pain.  It now causes a limp. I had a lumbar MRI that showed mild diffuse disc bulge with small herniation at L1-L2 and mild diffuse disc bulge at L4-L5. The spine surgeon said it was normal.  I also had EMG/NCV which was normal.  Could the small hernation cause the thigh pain and why would he call herniation normal?

I know the feeling! I STAY in constant pain in my hips, thighs, & back! All they tell me is..."You need another MRI"...O.K I Have NO insurance and I can't afford to get another MRI whenever "THEY" feel the need to send me for one!! If They will PAY for the damn things I'll be more than happy to get them done. Like you said...I wish they could feel the pain like we do!!

Yeah. If it was them or someone "important" they would do something.

cause doctors are jackasses. I have the same along with lowback pain. i pinched L5andS1 my hip always feels out of place . It is directly related to the disks being compressed the wrong way.no herniation is normal .Ijust wish they could feel our pain for one day. Then they would jump over backwards  to eleviate the problem.
