Tickling Back

I have a non-painful tickling sensation in my upper back close to the spine.  What is causing this and is there any type of treatment?

I have had a tickling sensation in my back which seems to emanate from the right middle and goes up to my right shoulder.  It also feels like something is sometimes trying to push put of my back.Although it is not really painful it certainly is annoying. I am constantly shifting to get some respite but nothing seems to make it go away. If I am on the move or being busy it does seem to go away, but as soon as I sit at work in front of the computer, it seems to appear and I lose concentration to it!
My GP says it is nothing serious as there are no major organs in the area, so I have not been able to get any further with any diagnosis.
Have you got any further with your diagnosis as both yours and mine sound similar. I have been going to the gym recently and after doing some shoulder and back excercises it does seem to go away a little, but, only until I think about it again and as soon as I am at rest it seems to be constantly here again.

Has that sensation left yet? I get a similar sensation when I am going to break out in hives in a certain area.  Almost feels as if something is trying to pop out from under my skin.
