What type of doctor?
Bed rest for lower back problems is generally recommended for only a day or two.Movement is the best for blood flow and relief. Bend at the knees.

There is nothing inyour MRI which points to a casue of the back problems.
Your doctor does not seem to want to get to the cause.

You probably should go see an orthopedic surgeon. Bring the MRI films for he/she to look at and evaluate. Are you on any pain medication and/or muscle relaxers?

Get another opinion.
You also might try reading a book by Dr. John Sarno on back problems as your problems seem asymtomatic.

If you are in the NYC area I can recommend an orthopedist.

Good Luck to you

im 28 yrs old female. i got a MRI done because i have been having severe lower back pain after my delivery in May'07. doctor right now has asked me to take complete bed rest, avoid bending and not to lift or push anything heavy. i've been quite worried because right now im very young and i have a whole lot of responsibility of my child ahead.

Seems very mild, nothing extraordinary there.

How old are you?
Why did you have the MRI?
