help understanding my mri reports

hello i recently had 2 mri's done one thoracic and one lumbar along with a ct lumbar i was just looking for some help in understanding the terminology used in the reports dont have a dr. apt til january so here goes"

mri thoracic:
conclusion: triangular, low signal structure originating along the posterolateral aspect of the spinal canal on the left indenting the dural sac at T10-T11 level. this structure could represent prominent localized ligamenta flava and /or degenerative changes of the intervertebral joint as osteophytes.

mri lumbar:
conclusion: shallow protrusion at L4-L5 and minimal encroachment neuroforamina bilaterally. degenerative changes intervertebral joints at L5-S1.
comments: L4-L5 again presented the previously described shallow broad-based protrusion with slight encroachment of the neural foramina bilaterally.

ct lumbar spine:
conclusion: broad-based protrusion at L4-L5 disc space associated with mild prominence of the ligamenta flava creating a mild degree of borderline central canal stenosis. there is slight encroachment of the neural foramina bilaterally at that level. degenerative changes of the sacroiliac joints with vacuum phenomena.

From what I underdstand is tat you may have degenerative disc disease. That's what the word degenerative changes refer to. I'm not an expert, and I'm sure someone else knows more than I. Im sure your doctor can clear up any questions you may have, but I underdstand your curiosity in the meantime!
