Small degenerative changes and osteophytes are a result of "wear and tear" based on aging and level of physical activity. Per the radiologist, it does not sound like your situation has compromised your spinal nerves or spinal cord which would occur with larger osteophyte formation and/or disc herniation.
Smoking is a contraindication post surgical intervention on the spine as it interferes with bone regrowth -- preop it is just an unhealthy lifestyle. I know it can be hard to quit, but it may help your overall health.
Using the computer for long periods of time does put added stress on your spine from sitting and not changing positions. My recommendation would be to limit your computer time to 30-45 min intervals with a good rest period in between to do other activity such as walking, etc. It might help.
....and i stay very long time at computer, at work and home...
The findings are small modifications of disks and osteophytes..but the radiologist say that he don't see anything, and that i'm too young for bone problems..
I have to say that i am a heavy smoker,,,
Please post the findings of your x-rays. It would be helpful to see if there are clinical findings that could be associated with your varied symptoms.
I don't know if i forgot something, for me this is an nightmare, because i cannot do the activities of an normal man,i only can go to work, but only that...I observe that the symptoms are ammpliffied when i am in a large number of people, stressant activities..
Before that was happening to me, i had treatment for moderate depression, and i had 2 experiences at different times with one minute strong dizziness ,like everithing was spinning around me. I would like to hear your opinion and i like to show my x-ray to you,i can that? Thank you very much!
After 7-8 months, in december 2008,all comes back, but not at the intensity of the first time: neck contracture, dizziness, feeling like next second i will faint, rocks behind ears, often vision changes, maxilar and under eyes contracure, constant pressure on ears area, but behind them, when i try to relax(stretch) the occipital area.
Some of these simptoms comes and go, but some are persistent.I was to another reumathoid doctor and told me cervical dischopathy, and gave me one week shoots with movalis, muscle relaxants, calcium, ginko biloba and betaserc, and 2 infiltrations with some antiinflamatories.
Now i feel some how better, but i still have the feeling of rocks in back of head, pressure on ears area when i try to relax my back head (like when you stretch your face, pulling up the eyebrows),dizziness, cannot rotate my head fully to the left...
In all this time i was feeling no pain, only at start when i was feeling a litlle the nerve in the backhead, and in the top of the crysys one little pain was going down from neck to shoulder, that now it is'nt,i think because i was doing exercices and from medicines.
